Chelsea Gardens performs most structural pruning and reduction of ornamental trees and shrubs on Cape Cod in late Winter/early Spring with the exception of Spring flowering plants. We focus on all Cape Cod Hydrangea varieties, Viburnum, Rose of Sharon, Roses and more. On Cape Cod, ummer maintenance pruning consists of Boxwood, Privet, Inkberry and Spring flowering shrubs. We utilize proper pruning techniques and have experience in both naturalized landscapes and formal gardens across Cape Cod.
We use Espoma organic fertilizers and utilize Quantum Growth and Biochar products to increase microbial activity in the soil. This accelerates nutrient uptake and reduces leaching and volatilization of excess nitrogen in our waters. Chelsea Gardens will be able to identify animal damage, insect and fungal problems and recommend treatment accordingly.
Chelsea Gardens can design, install and maintain annual flower gardens and containers. We utilize a wide variety of tropical plants, grasses and traditional annual flowers to create stunning color displays all season. Winter containers & evergreen window box arrangements are a favorite and we assemble beautiful cut flower arrangements for inside the home.
Chelsea Gardens can design, install and maintain perennial beds to have colorful displays throughout the season and vegetable/herb beds for harvest. We feed with microbial soil amendments, organic fertilizers and maintain by staking, deadheading, cutting back and dividing at the appropriate times. Compost is used to amend the beds and top dressed with leaf mulch. Annual flowers are added to the beds to attract pollinators and plants are staked and inspected for pests weekly.
A Chelsea Gardens team member will walk your property after storms year round to inspect, report damage, and remedy the situation. We are available to maintain indoor plants during times of vacancy.
